XXL Olive Wood Chess Set

A very large chess set. This is a Spanish chess set made from olive wood.

The king measures 20.4 cm in height and the pawns 9 cm.

The board measures 60 x 60 cm, with 7.3 cm squares.

At this scale, the pieces resemble sculptures more than chess pieces.

Its creation required considerable work and a large quantity of wood. The pieces were turned and hand-carved before being painted.

The pieces have been well preserved, but unfortunately the board is in rather poor condition.
